Fried Egg Wheat Stacks

Ingredients

  • 4 Barbara’s® Shredded Wheat Cereal biscuits
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 4 teaspoons butter-oil spread
  • 4 medium or large eggs
  • ¼ cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • Green onions or chopped parsley for garnish

Directions

 

  1. Pour 1 tablespoon milk on each shredded wheat biscuit.  Let stand for 2 or 3 minutes.
  2. Heat oil over medium-high heat in 12” nonstick skillet until skillet is hot.
  3. Cut a 1 ½” (or diameter of egg) round hole in each wheat biscuit. Butter top side of biscuit.  Place biscuit in pan.
  4. Break egg and slip into biscuit hole; cook over medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side; flip and cook 3-4 minutes on other side.   
  5. While egg cooks, mix shredded wheat biscuit pieces with about 1 tablespoon cheese, fry in pan while egg cooks.  
  6. Sprinkle each egg-biscuit with 1-2 teaspoons Cheddar cheese; top with sliced green onions or parsley.
